About

Ah. Where to begin.

Two things from my childhood kind of were a sign of the adult I would become later. First, when I would watch TV, (Sonny and Cher anyone? Tony Orlando and Dawn?), I would sit and play with my toys until a commercial would come on the TV. Then I would look up and just be in a trance. So my family says anyway.

Also when I was five, someone asked me what I wanted to be when I grew up. My answer? A blackjack dealer.

I think that shows a little creativity starting from a young age.

I grew up in Portsmouth, Virginia and came to Virginia Tech for my undergraduate degree in Communication Studies. It was a bit of a culture shock going from city life to rural life, but after three months back in PTown after graduating, I decided that Blacksburg was where I needed to be. I moved back, started my career in video production and stayed.

Since then I married, had two kids and am happily settled in the NRV. I am involved with the Blacksburg Fire Department Auxiliary (we don’t put out fires, just support the firefighters), helping with the local food pantry (BTW, breakfast foods and canned fruits are always welcome as a donation) and teaching people how to get out of debt using Dave Ramsey’s methods. I love to read, hang out with  my family and root for my Hokies. And most important – my daughter is in Girl Scouts and I can hook you up with some cookies.
